In the 1980s, Guido Brivio introduced his own wine line and formed a close partnership with the renowned Gialdi winery, which had already specialized in vinifying grapes from the Sottoceneri region. Brivio wines focus primarily on grape varieties from southern Ticino. In 2001, Gialdi Vini SA acquired Brivio Vini SA, expanding the range to include wines from northern Ticino.
This wine displays a deep ruby red color. The bouquet is intense yet balanced and complex, with aromas of ripe red berries accompanied by delicate spice notes and subtle toasted hints. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with a well-defined structure. A harmonious wine with a long, lingering finish.
The wine is aged using the traditional Bordeaux method. Fermentation takes place on the skins for 10 to 12 days at 28°C in stainless steel tanks. It then matures, with 20% in new oak barrels, while the remaining 80% is refined for 10 months in second- and third-use barriques.
