Château Laroze is the ideal companion to classic dishes such as pan-fried calf’s liver with apples, onions, and balsamic sauce, ossobuco, or boeuf bourguignon. It also pairs particularly well with beef, lamb, poultry, as well as game dishes such as venison or deer.
Like a hidden gem nestled among the hills, Château Laroze holds within its walls one of Saint-Émilion’s most precious treasures. The winemaking tradition has been alive here for 400 years, and the estate remains family-owned to this day. The Meslin family, the current owners, are direct descendants of the founders of the Domaine de Laroze, which was established in 1882. This long family tradition has enabled Château Laroze to forge a distinctive winemaking identity in the heart of Saint-Emilion. Since the first classification in 1955, Château Laroze has been a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion, making it a historic benchmark for the estate.
This Château Laroze seduces with oak-influenced aromas of ripe dark berries, baking spices, and dried herbs, complemented by notes of lavender, cocoa, and dried orange peel. It is medium- to full-bodied with juicy tannins, offering depth and length alongside a savory fruit character. This French red wine is well-structured, with a richly textured, opulent palate and a long, balanced finish.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and temperature-controlled concrete vats. It is then aged 50% in new French oak barriques, 43% in large wooden barrels, and 7% in amphorae.
