In the picturesque surroundings of Cazzano di Tramigna, near the charming town of Soave, the story of the Bennati family began in 1870. Antonio Bennati, affectionately called "Toni Recioto" – inspired by the renowned straw wine from the Verona region – laid the foundation for a winemaking tradition that endures to this day. His passion for viticulture drove him to craft wines, which he sold in the distinctive straw-covered bottles of the era.
After the turmoil of the First World War, Antonio and his son Annibale established Cantine Bennati in 1920. Today, in its fourth generation, the winery embodies a seamless blend of tradition and innovation. For the winemakers, crafting wine is more than a trade – it is a journey that tells stories, evokes emotions, and transports people to special places. Together with their dedicated team, they create wines that leave a lasting impression and offer timeless moments.
Intensely red-colored wine with rich aromas of ripe wild berries and subtle spicy notes of tobacco, coffee, and juniper berries. On the palate, the Ireos Rosso Veronese Soraighe IGT Barrique is silky, complex, and elegant, thanks to its fine tannins.
After being hand-harvested, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. The berries and must are then transferred to tanks along with selected yeasts to initiate alcoholic fermentation. This process is carried out under controlled temperatures (24–25°C) to extract the fruity components from the grape skins.Once fermentation is complete, the wine first matures in stainless steel tanks before being aged further in oak barrels and barriques. An additional refinement takes place through bottle aging for 180 days. The wine is only partially filtered to better express the aromatic qualities of the grape varieties used. Any slight sediment is a testament to the natural production of this wine.
The soils of the vineyards are characterised by calcareous deposits with a skeleton-rich limestone surface.
