Since 1921, the Matasci company has been based in Tenero, nestled in the idyllic landscape of the sun-drenched Locarno hills overlooking Lake Maggiore. As a trailblazer in sustainable and natural winemaking, Matasci made a significant mark in 1964 with the Selezione d’Ottobre. This Merlot, renowned for its refined and elegant character, continues to define the winery’s unique style to this day.
The Sassariente impresses with its rich bouquet. A quintessential Ticino Merlot, it stands out with its full and harmonious body. The aromas are long-lasting, and the wine boasts excellent aging potential.
The fermentation on the skins lasts several days.
The grapes for this noble Merlot are of the highest quality and come from an area below Monte Sassariente.
