The Ismael Arroyo – ValSotillo winery embodies a family tradition of winemaking that has been preserved for generations, dating back to the 16th century. In 1979, Ismael Arroyo, a pioneer in the Ribera del Duero region, began bottling wines under the Mesoneros de Castilla and ValSotillo brands. As a co-founder of the D.O. Ribera del Duero in 1982, the winery seamlessly combines deep historical roots with an unwavering commitment to exceptional quality. Renowned for their longevity, these wines are considered among the most elegant and complex in the region, standing apart from fleeting trends and fads.
This Crianza reveals itself in a ruby red hue with dark highlights. Its bouquet is refined and complex, offering fruity aromas of blackcurrants and ripe cherries. Delicate spice notes blend seamlessly with hints of espresso and plum. The finish is remarkably long-lasting and impressively vibrant.
The grapes for this wine are carefully hand-harvested and traditionally processed. The wine then matures for at least 14 months in oak barrels within an underground vaulted cellar before being bottled to continue its aging.
