Perfect with grilled beef, Argentine asado or rack of lamb. It also pairs well with hearty pasta dishes with tomato sauces, game ragouts and mature cheeses such as Manchego or Parmesan.
Escorihuela Gascon was founded in 1884 in Godoy Cruz and is considered the oldest winery in the city of Mendoza. Founder Miguel Escorihuela laid the foundation for Argentina's rise to wine power with his vision. To this day, the bodega combines tradition and progress, cultivates its vines at the foot of the Andes and stands for origin, character and Argentine identity with its Malbecs.
The 1884 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown from Escorihuela Gascon has an intense ruby red colour. The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and ripe plums, complemented by notes of black pepper, tobacco and fine vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a firm structure, ripe tannins and a long, spicy finish.
The wine is aged for eight months in French oak.
The grapes for the 1884 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown come from high-altitude vineyards in Agrelo and El Cepillo, where calcareous soils and cool nights promote structure and elegance.
