Great with rack of lamb with herb crust or braised beef cheeks with polenta. Also harmonious: fried porcini mushrooms on cream risotto or a mature Gruyère AOP.
In 1955, Marcel Dassault acquired what was then Château Couperie and laid the foundation for the modern era; in 1969, it was elevated to Grand Cru classé status. Today, the estate belongs to Dassault Wine Estates: invested in, modernised and managed with a clear focus on quality – tradition meets technical excellence.
Dark cherry and plum, supported by violet, cedar wood and a hint of graphite. Dense yet supple on the palate, with ripe, fine-grained tannins, refreshing tension and a long, dry finish that prioritises elegance over power.
Hand-picked, fermented in small temperature-controlled tanks by plot; partially vinified in wood. Ageing Around 12–16 months, mainly in French barriques (a high proportion of new), supplemented by proportions in foudre, concrete or amphorae – for finesse instead of over-oaking.
