The Cuvée Prinz is the perfect companion for a relaxed gathering – enjoyed on its own or for those who prefer softer red wines and wish to avoid bolder varieties.
Until the 19th century, Kaiserspan was part of the Heidegg Castle estate. Its name derives from the "Kaiser’s Bann," a hunting reserve accessible only to the castle’s residents and their guests. On August 28, 1851, the clearing of the forest marked the beginning of what is now the Kaiserspan winery.
For decades, Kaiserspan was the only vineyard in Central Switzerland where wine was cultivated until 1957. After a long hiatus, the sunlit slopes were replanted with vines in 1990, starting with 0.75 hectares. In the years that followed, the vineyard expanded to 5 hectares. Today, nearly the entire area is designated as a certified biodiversity promotion zone and meets the highest quality standards of the Qll category.
This delightful cuvée captivates with its deep color and fruity notes of dark berries, vanilla, and cherries. Smooth tannins add elegance, while the natural residual sweetness on the finish creates a unique experience that makes this wine truly special.
Matured in steel tanks.
The vineyard is located in Gelfingen, a picturesque village within the municipality of Hitzkirch. From its position on a terminal moraine, it offers a stunning view of Lake Baldegg.
