A versatile companion to Valais specialities, poultry, veal, pork and pasta. Particularly lovely with veal bratwurst and onion sauce, roast pork with herbs or Älplermagronen; a Ticino salumi platter is also an excellent match.
Oskar Mathier-Oggier AG is listed as the producer on the wine label, in honour of Diego Mathier’s grandfather, Oskar Mathier-Oggier.
Some families pass on knowledge. The Mathiers pass on a passion for wine. For generations, wines have been produced in Valais that bring their origins authentically to the glass. Today, Diego Mathier carries on this legacy with the same enthusiasm – combining living tradition with the commitment to get the very best out of every grape.
Clear ruby red. On the nose, ripe cherries, raspberries and redcurrants combine with a subtle spiciness. On the palate, the Dôle is fruity, fresh and well-balanced, with supple tannins, a pleasant body and a harmonious, juicy finish.
Pinot Noir and Gamay are traditionally vinified as red wine and matured in stainless steel tanks. This preserves the cuvée’s distinct fruitiness, freshness and approachable character.
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Valais. Plenty of sunshine, a dry Alpine climate and significant temperature differences between day and night promote ripe fruit, lively freshness and a balanced structure.
