A versatile wine that pairs beautifully with salads, pasta in rich sauces, white and red meat, game birds, stews, blue fish, or white fish in sauce. It also complements dishes like a seafood gratin perfectly.
Located in the heart of Rioja Alta, south of the Ebro between Haro and Logroño, Bodegas Altanza was founded in October 1998. In Fuenmayor, exceptional wines are crafted in Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva categories. The unique character of these Rioja wines stems from the harmony between traditional craftsmanship and a modern, innovative approach.
This Tempranillo showcases an intense garnet red color with purplish highlights. Delicate notes of cherry and vanilla open the bouquet, giving way to ripe blackberries on the palate. Subtle aromas of blueberries, supported by a refined oak undertone, linger on the palate in the finish with a soft and lasting aftertaste.
The grapes from Tempranillo vines are first fermented in stainless steel tanks. The Crianzas then age for 12 months in oak barrels before being bottled and receiving their final refinement in the wine cellar.
Rioja is one of Spain’s most fertile regions, where grapevines thrive exceptionally well. The landscape is characterized by remarkable diversity, including sandy soils, limestone, gravelly alluvial plains, and iron-rich clay.
