A versatile accompaniment to light starters, asparagus dishes and fish. It pairs particularly well with pan-fried pike-perch on a bed of vegetables or an asparagus risotto, as well as with chicken breast and mild cream cheese.
The Zum Sternen winery in Würenlingen is one of Switzerland’s oldest wine-growing estates and is now run by the Meier family, now in its 17th generation. With a keen understanding of their various single vineyards, they produce characterful terroir wines that authentically reflect the distinctive qualities of the Aargau wine region. Modern cellar technology and centuries-old winemaking traditions go hand in hand.
Pale yellow with greenish highlights. The bouquet delights with notes of apricot, ripe peach, citrus fruits and subtle hints of nutmeg. On the palate, the wine is fresh, aromatic and persistent, with lively acidity, lovely fruitiness and an elegant, racy finish.
The wine is fermented and matured in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to optimally preserve the variety’s characteristic freshness and pronounced fruit aromas.
The grapes come from the Höll vineyard in Würenlingen, at an altitude of around 370 metres above sea level. The warm, sunny slope with fertile loess soil over Nagelfluh gives the wine its intense fruitiness, a robust structure and remarkable freshness.
