Excellent with cured meats, braised or grilled red meats and a variety of cheeses. Particularly enjoyable with a Ticino salumi platter, brasato with polenta or medium-aged alpine cheese.
Matasci Vini has been based in Tenero since 1921 and is one of the best-known names in Ticino wine culture. The family business became especially recognised through the Selezione d’Ottobre, helping define a softer and more refined Merlot Ticino style. Today, Matasci combines its own wines with regional collaborations and a carefully selected portfolio of Swiss and international wines.
Bright ruby red in the glass. The nose is fruity and direct, marked by red fruits such as cherry, redcurrant and raspberry. On the palate, La Murata offers good body, medium acidity and clear fruit expression. A Merlot that feels uncomplicated yet is beautifully crafted and highly drinkable.
Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation last around 10 to 12 days.
The grapes come from the Bellinzonese area in Ticino, a wine region combining warm temperatures with alpine influences. This balance supports fruity, approachable Merlot wines with freshness and structure.
