Perfectly pairs with red meat, lamb, and grilled dishes. How about lamb with a herb crust and roasted potatoes?

Wine history
chevron-down

The Merlot grape, one of the most widely cultivated varieties globally, is primarily found in Europe in Bordeaux, especially in Pomérol and St. Emilion. In Switzerland, it is mainly grown in Ticino. The history of Merlot in Salgesch dates back to 1930. Strict yield regulations and climate changes now allow the production of top-quality Merlots in Valais, especially in Salgesch.

The label shows the Dom, the highest Swiss mountain entirely on Swiss soil, at 4,545 m above sea level. Notably, the mountain is entirely within the municipality of Randa, the hometown of Nadia Mathier.

Tasting note
chevron-down

The wine presents itself as a typical Merlot with a deep red color. On the nose, it reveals spicy aromas and hints of dark fruits. On the palate, it is robust and persistent, with a long finish.

Vinification
chevron-down

The initial fermentation is temperature-controlled to enhance the fruit aromas. The aging takes place in stainless steel tanks, aiming to produce a varietal, fruity wine. This process gives it freshness, making it ready to be enjoyed immediately.
