Culinary recommendation
chevron-down

Ideal with seafood, white fish and delicate vegetable flavours. Perfect with scallops in citrus butter or pike-perch on a fennel and orange salad; also great with asparagus with lemon verbena or a goat's cheese tart.

Wine history
chevron-down

Château Margaux has stood for top quality on the left bank for centuries. The Mentzelopoulos family has been running the estate since 1977, combining tradition with innovation – right down to the wine cellar designed by Norman Foster. This approach has resulted in a white wine from France of rare precision and longevity.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Lime zest, white peach and elderflower on the nose, accompanied by chalk and delicate herbs. Crystal clear yet creamy on the palate, with taut acidity, a delicate melt and a salty, mineral finish; very long, with notes of citrus oil and wet stone.

Vinification
chevron-down

Selective harvesting in the cool morning, fermentation by plot. Aged for 6–8 months on the lees in French oak (a moderate proportion of new wood), without malolactic fermentation – for tension, finesse and length.

2ème Vin de Margaux
Vineyards
chevron-down
Around 11 hectares of old, frost-prone parcels of the estate on barren, well-drained gravel soils in Margaux. Strict selection (only part of the harvest is bottled) and the cool exposure characterise the crystal-clear aromatics and mineral tension.
