This Pinot Gris is an excellent choice for a delightful aperitif and pairs beautifully with Chinese cuisine, veal, omelets, cheese, or grilled fish. Highly recommended: enjoy it with an Asian duck stir-fry or freshly grilled trout.
Around 1300, a descendant of Knight Heinrich von Heidegg began planting vines on the sun-drenched, steep slopes surrounding the castle. Over the centuries, Heidegg experienced both periods of splendor and challenging times. Nonetheless, the castle became the Seetal Wine Castle and later one of Lucerne's most renowned wine landmarks.
Today, the leadership of the Heidegg Winery continues the legacy of Josef Zemp. The skilled and respected vineyard master of the State Winery left a lasting mark on viticulture at the castle hill, establishing it as a model for the entire canton of Lucerne.
A radiant golden-yellow hue in the glass, complemented by an intensely fruity nose with notes of honey and dried fruits. Subtle hints of linden blossom and bergamot add depth to the bouquet. On the palate, this is a robust white wine with a balanced structure and harmonious volume. The acidity is well-integrated, with a long and delicate finish.
This wine matures to perfection in stainless steel tanks.
The Pinot Gris vines thrive on the sunlit slopes beneath Schloss Heidegg.
