The side blow

Pinot Noir Maienfeld

Graubünden AOC
He smiles warmly – and then hits the nail on the head. Maienfeld Pinot Noir, which doesn't just sit quietly in class, but prefers to take a red pen to dusty ideas. One sip and you know: this is no copycat, this is the real deal.

Culinary recommendation
chevron-down

This Pinot is a true chameleon on the plate: ideal with tender salmon or tuna, spicy mushroom risotto or tender lamb. It also goes wonderfully with crispy roast poultry or a classic roast – the spring dance of flavours makes it a partner, not a follower.

Wine history
chevron-down

In the heart of Balgach, Nüesch Weine blends tradition with pace: since 1834, they have been producing fine wines in the Rhine Valley, now with their own vines in St. Gallen, Graubünden and even Tuscany. Their new wooden building is a statement of intent – heritage meets design. Whether it's their own products or hand-picked wines from around the world, wine culture beats here with 20 heads (and hearts) that are uncompromisingly committed to top quality – and happy to share a glass with you.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Rich, sparkling ruby red. On the nose, a complex mosaic of ripe red and black berries, accompanied by a hint of spicy forest. Well-structured on the palate, with velvety tannins, a balanced body and a finish that lingers longer than expected – charming and confident at the same time.

Vinification

Partially aged in wooden barrels.
