The firework

Pinot Noir Nouveau Salquenen

AOC Valais
A wine like fireworks. From the first sip, it enchants you, drawing out smiles and exclamations. But as in life, there’s a small letdown when you realize the bottle is empty—like the final rocket marking the grand finale. Better to order an extra bottle right away.

A perfect match as an aperitif, with poultry, veal, and pork dishes, as well as Mediterranean pasta and pizza.

Wine history
chevron-down

Originally from Burgundy, the Pinot Noir grape found a new home in Valais in 1848, the founding year of the Swiss Confederation. At the turn of the millennium, our winery also took a new direction as part of a succession process, embodied in the name Nouveau Salquenen. The result is a fruity Pinot Noir, interpreted with modern and innovative flair.

Tasting note
chevron-down

The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe red fruits. On the palate, this Pinot Noir is harmoniously round, delighting with its fruity character and velvety-soft tannins. This ruby-red, balanced Pinot Noir offers a complex and harmonious drinking experience, even at an early stage.

Vinification
chevron-down

To extract additional aromas from the fruit skins, the mash is gently warmed before the fermentation begins. Fermentation is then softly halted, giving the Pinot Noir "Nouveau Salquenen" its pleasantly sweet touch.
