Pairs excellently with braised beef with polenta or an Argentine asado. A leg of lamb with herbs or mature Manchego cheese also highlight its strengths.
On an estancia where racehorses once shone, Dieter Meier – Swiss musician and lateral thinker – has found his new playing field: wine. What he brought to the stage with Yello lives on here – attitude, rhythm, character. Since the 1990s, he has been relying on biodynamic diversity with wine, meat, nuts and honey in the Pampa Húmeda. The ‘winner spirit’ has remained: uncompromising, authentic – in the glass as well as in the mind.
Dark ruby red in the glass, with a complex bouquet of ripe blackberries, cassis and a hint of tobacco. Full-bodied and smooth on the palate with strong tannins, juicy fruit and fine spice. A wine with structure and elegance that is powerful yet harmonious.
20% of the wine is aged in French oak, the other 80% in concrete tanks.
The grapes grow on the Estancia Ojo de Agua in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo (Mendoza), at the foot of the Andes at an altitude of around 1,100 metres. Around 20-year-old vines, organically cultivated and rooted in natural alluvial soils, deliver a wine with a distinctive, terroir-driven character thanks to dense planting and deliberately low yields.
