Culinary recommendation

This wine pairs perfectly with red meat and grilled dishes. He is also an excellent wine to pair with fish and is particularly suited to those who prefer red over white wine. A great example: grilled trout paired with a Spiez Pinot Noir – an exceptional match.

Wine history
chevron-down

The Spiez vineyard is among the highest-altitude winegrowing areas north of the Alps. In 1927, Hans Barben brought together a group of passionate wine enthusiasts who began cultivating Riesling-Sylvaner the following year. Shortly after, the variety was replaced with Chasselas, but the soil proved unsuitable. Consequently, Riesling-Sylvaner was replanted. This dedicated group established an association focused on expanding the vineyard. In 1942, the association was transformed into a cooperative, laying the foundation for the future of winemaking in Spiez.
