In 2000, Khanh Nguyen and Franco Batzella established the Batzella winery in the heart of the renowned Bolgheri region on Tuscany’s central coast. Surrounded by rolling hills and the Tyrrhenian Sea, this area offers perfect conditions for the Cabernet varieties that are synonymous with Bolgheri. The wines from Tuscany crafted here captivate with their elegant structure and remarkable maturity.
A deep ruby red defines its color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberries, along with hints of undergrowth, smoke, mint, licorice, and roasted notes. On the palate, this Bolgheri wine shows balanced structure and concentration, with elegant tannins and a long-lasting finish.
Fermentation takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 24 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux. Finally, it is aged for an additional 24 months in the bottle.
The Bolgheri region is nestled between gentle hills and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vineyards are predominantly characterized by clayey-sandy soils.
