An organically grown Chasselas that is perfect as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with Swiss cheese specialties, cold platters, freshwater fish such as perch fillets, and sausage dishes.
The Krebs & Steiner winery is located in Schernelz, above Ligerz, offering views of Lake Biel and the Alps. Sabine and Andreas, both from winemaking families, merged their family wineries in 2019 to form Krebs & Steiner. The basic line is marketed under the joint label, while premium and single-vineyard wines retain the distinctive styles of Krebs and Steiner. The winery has been a member of Mémoire des Vins Suisses since 2007 and has been certified organic since 2019.
This pale yellow Chasselas offers aromas of quince, melon, a hint of citrus, and a delicate floral touch. On the palate, it reveals subtle fruitiness paired with noticeable minerality and a light creaminess, balanced by a refreshing acidity. A refined Chasselas with great structure and finesse.
The grapes for this Chasselas are carefully handpicked. Both the alcoholic fermentation and subsequent maturation take place in stainless steel tanks.
