A rosé that complements appetizers, fish dishes, and asparagus, elevating them to a new level.
The roots of the winery trace back to the 16th century. In 1816, Jakob Engel laid the foundation for the modern estate by purchasing the so-called Aebischer House. The Engel family, originally from Thurgau, settled by Lake Biel as early as the Middle Ages. The name "Frauenkopf" is derived from the field name "Frauenkapf," which traces back to the Cistercian nuns of Fraubrunnen Abbey. The land belonged to the abbey in the late Middle Ages. Today, Frauenkapf is still regarded as one of the finest vineyard sites, characterized by the region’s iconic dry-stone walls and offering a stunning view of St. Peter’s Island.
A lively and fruity wine with hints of ripe strawberries and blackcurrant.
This wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
The southern foothills of the Jura are defined by dry, rocky soils with a high limestone content. The terroir benefits from the lake’s ability to retain heat, which, combined with slopes reaching up to 60 percent inclination, creates perfect conditions for viticulture.
