Until the 19th century, the Kaiserspan was part of Schloss Heidegg. The name originates from the "Kaiser’s Bann," a hunting reserve exclusively for the castle's residents and their guests. On August 28, 1851, the clearing of the forest marked the beginning of the Kaiserspan estate.
For decades, the Kaiserspan remained the only vineyard in central Switzerland, where viticulture was practiced until 1957. After a long hiatus, the sunny slopes were replanted with vines in 1990, initially covering 75 ares. Since then, the vineyard area has been steadily expanded and now encompasses 5 hectares. A large portion of the area is designated as a certified biodiversity promotion zone, achieving the highest quality level (Qll).
Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling-Silvaner come together in this full-bodied yet refreshing wine. The Countess delights with a harmonious aroma and lively elegance on the palate. A wine that masterfully combines opulent richness with delicate finesse.
This wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
The vineyard is located in the district of Gelfingen, part of the municipality of Hitzkirch. Situated on a terminal moraine, it offers a picturesque view of Lake Baldegg.
