The Spiez vineyard is among the highest-altitude winegrowing areas north of the Alps. In 1927, Hans Barben gathered a group of wine enthusiasts who began planting Riesling-Sylvaner the following year. After a brief trial with Chasselas, it became clear that the soil was unsuitable, leading to a return to Riesling-Sylvaner. This dedicated group founded an association focused on expanding the vineyard. In 1942, the association was transformed into a cooperative, laying the foundation for the future of winemaking in Spiez.
Rich, full-bodied, and well-rounded. Aromas of plums, dark berries, and dried fruits dominate the bouquet. On the palate, it offers impressive fullness, balanced structure, and medium length, enhanced by a touch of elegance.
Aged in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks, with only a coarse filtration.
The terroir at Spiez by Lake Thun, perfectly tailored to each grape variety.
