Pairs perfectly with tender beef fillet, aromatic lamb or mushroom dishes that reflect its fullness. Also a hit with Grisons specialities such as Capuns or Salsiz – a wine that loves to be at the centre of attention.
In Maienfeld, surrounded by stone walls and clear Alpine air, Markus and Karin Stäger cultivate four hectares of vineyards together with their daughters Stefanie and Selina – supplemented by selected grapes from the region. Pinot Noir and Riesling Sylvaner thrive at 520–600 metres above sea level, partly from vines that are over 50 years old. Fourteen parcels with their own unique character combine to create wines that reflect the climate, soil and the family's signature style. Precisely cultivated, uncompromising in quality – and unmistakably Stäger.
Dark ruby red in the glass. Enticing wild berries, sweet cherries and subtle spice on the nose – fresh and delicate. Dense, fruity and richly extracted on the palate, with smooth juiciness and pleasant tannins. A Pinot Noir that impresses and leaves you wanting more.
Aged in barrique barrels.
