Château Laroze is the ideal accompaniment to classic dishes such as roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, ossobuco or boeuf bourguignon. It also harmonises particularly well with beef, lamb, poultry and game dishes such as venison or roe deer.
Nestled like a hidden gem among the hills, Château Laroze preserves one of Saint-Emilion's greatest treasures within its walls. With 400 years of winemaking tradition, the estate remains in family hands. The Meslin family, the current owners, are direct descendants of the founders of Domaine de Laroze, established in 1882. This centuries-old lineage has allowed Château Laroze to build a unique viticultural identity in the heart of Saint-Emilion. Since the first classification in 1955, Château Laroze has been a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion, serving as a historical reference for the estate.
The Château Laroze entices with barrel-aged aromas of ripe dark berries, baking spices, dried herbs, lavender, cocoa, and dried orange peel. It is medium to full-bodied, with juicy tannins, depth, and length, along with a hearty fruit character. Structured with a richly filled, opulent palate and a lingering, balanced finish.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and temperature-controlled concrete vats. It is then aged, with 50% in new French oak barrels, 43% in large wooden vats, and 7% in amphorae.
The 27-hectare vineyard stretches at the foot of the northwestern slope of Saint-Emilion and the medieval village. The vineyards, laid out around the château, are characterized by gravelly soils that impart finesse and elegance to the wine, as well as clay soils that enhance its structure.
