Around the year 1300, a descendant of Knight Heinrich von Heidegg began planting vines on the steep, sunlit slopes near the castle. Over the centuries, Heidegg experienced both times of glory and challenging periods. Nevertheless, the castle evolved into the Seetal Wine Castle and later became one of the most renowned wine landmarks in Lucerne.
Today, the management of the Heidegg Winery continues the legacy of Josef Zemp. The esteemed and experienced vineyard master of the State Winery significantly influenced viticulture on the castle hill, establishing it as a model for winemaking in the entire Lucerne region.
Cuvée Vigneron is a characterful wine with a layered personality. Its bouquet reveals an inviting blend of red berries, subtle roasted notes, and delicate spices. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance with medium body, finely structured tannins, and a smooth, rounded texture.
This cuvée matures to perfection in new and used barriques.
Below Schloss Heidegg lie the sunlit slopes where the various grape varieties for this cuvée ripen.
