A wine that pairs wonderfully with game dishes, exotic cuisine, cheese, as well as white and red meats.
In 1929, winemakers from Morges and the surrounding areas joined forces to create a cooperative winery. Over the years, the community steadily grew as more winegrowers, villages, and estates became part of the initiative. Today, Cave de la Côte includes 1,800 plots of various sizes. The vineyard spans 450 hectares from Lausanne to Satigny, covering a quarter of La Côte’s wine-growing area.
This wine displays a beautiful cherry-red hue. The nose reveals intense aromas of blackberries, cherries, and plums, complemented by spicy accents. On the palate, it is smooth and rounded, with fruity and subtle woody notes. Its moderate tannins provide a well-balanced structure and fullness.
The wine matures to perfection in stainless steel tanks.
The wine-growing region lies on the moraine of the Rhône glacier, where fine silt and clay blend with deposits of molasse, limestone, gravel, and sand. Near the lake, gravelly soils predominate.
