Malvoisie La Valaisanne pairs wonderfully with all desserts, aged cheeses, and spicy Asian dishes. It promises pure delight as an accompaniment to savory foie gras on toasted bread.
The Malvoisie grape variety is also known as Pinot Gris or Grauburgunder. While the Pinot Noir grape turns dark blue-black, the Malvoisie grape takes on a gray to light red hue. This color change explains its name. When fully ripe, it turns a light purple, signaling that the grapes are ready to be harvested.
Malvoisie pays tribute to the women of Valais, as charming and sweet as they are. Its harmonious nature also reflects the traditional Valais attire shown on the label: a touch vain, proud, and refined, yet with unique charm, seductive sweetness, and elegant fruit. In every way, it beautifully resembles the women of Valais.
Malvoisie La Valaisanne enchants with its delicate almond and honey notes. Anyone who has resisted so far will find the seductive residual sweetness in the finish impossible to ignore.
The grapes are usually harvested as a late vintage in November and traditionally aged in stainless steel tanks. Due to the high natural sugar content, a subtle residual sweetness remains in the Malvoisie after fermentation.
Malvoisie La Valaisanne is cultivated near the picturesque wine village of Salgesch. The vines grow in Sierre, a town known as the "City of Sun" due to its more than 300 days of sunshine each year.
