Culinary recommendation
chevron-down

A wine that pairs beautifully with poultry, mildly spicy red meat, and duck. Also intriguing alongside aged cheese.

Wine history
chevron-down

Guglielmo Gialdi established Gialdi Vini SA in Mendrisio in 1953. Today, the company is managed by his son Feliciano, whose dedication has elevated it to one of the top wineries in Ticino. Thanks to substantial and ongoing investments in the cellars in Mendrisio and Bodio, Gialdi Vini, which includes Brivio since 2001 and Zamberlani since 2006, processes nearly one million kilograms of grapes annually.

Tasting note
chevron-down

A deep, rich ruby red. Balanced, intense, and multi-layered. Notes of ripe plums and blueberries blend with subtle roasted aromas, spice nuances, and a hint of menthol. Fresh and fruity yet complex and well-structured. Mature, seamlessly integrated tannins and vibrant acidity lead to a long and persistent finish.

Vinification
chevron-down

The winemaking process follows traditional methods, including maceration fermentation lasting 12 to 15 days at temperatures of 28 to 30°C. After undergoing malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 15 to 18 months in French oak barriques.
