An ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes and game. It pairs particularly well with medium-rare rack of lamb in a herb crust, braised beef cheeks or a mature Gruyère.
Domaine les Hutins looks back on a winemaking tradition dating back to 1901. Today, Émilienne Hutin Zumbach is the fifth generation to run the family estate, combining time-honoured knowledge with modern oenology. With its exclusive L’Intégrale range, the domaine has developed an exceptional vinification concept that expresses the character of each grape variety with particular precision and authenticity.
Deep ruby red with violet highlights. The bouquet combines intense aromas of black berries, black pepper and coriander with subtle toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful and spicy, with a dense structure, ripe fruit and superbly integrated tannins. The long finish impresses with its elegance, depth and a subtle hint of oak.
The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed but not crushed; instead, they are placed as whole berries directly into open 300-litre barriques, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. The wine is then aged for 18 months in the same barriques, gaining depth, structure and finely integrated oak notes.
The grapes come from the Premier Cru-classified vineyards of Dardagny in the canton of Geneva. Limestone and clay-rich soils, combined with the mild climate between the Jura and the Rhône, give the Syrah its intense spice, concentrated fruit and elegant structure.
