Around the year 1300, a descendant of Knight Heinrich von Heidegg began cultivating vines on the steep, sunlit slopes surrounding the castle. Over the centuries, Heidegg experienced both periods of glory and times of challenge. Nevertheless, the castle first became the Seetal Wine Castle and later one of the most prestigious wine destinations in the canton of Lucerne.
The current management of the Heidegg Winery continues the legacy of Josef Zemp. The esteemed vineyard master of the State Winery left a lasting mark on the castle hill’s viticulture, transforming it into a model estate for winemaking in the Lucerne region.
A characterful red wine with depth. The nose reveals aromas of ripe blackberries and juicy cherries, accompanied by a spicy, smoky nuance. An exclusive wine with ageing potential – made for special moments.
