The contradiction

Cabernet Jura Barrel No. 111 Bio,

Vin de pays suisse
Takes the liberty of not wanting to please everyone. A wine for those who prefer to discuss rather than nod – even with a full mouth. It goes well with conversations that digress, with friends who have attitude and with an evening that lasts longer than planned. Organic, of course. But with bite. And yes: feel free to ask for a refill.

Culinary recommendation
chevron-down

This characterful cuvée loves powerful aromas: excellent with Zurich-style sliced beef with rösti, equally suitable with spicy stuffed peppers or pan-fried beef. Asian-inspired dishes such as soy-glazed duck also emphasise its peppery, spicy character. A wine for culinary adventures with backbone.

Wine history
chevron-down

In 1994, Roland and Karin Lenz opened a new chapter in Iselisberg (TG) as pioneers of organic winegrowing in German-speaking Switzerland. The early days required perseverance, but since 2006, the winery has consistently focused on organic methods and now bears the Demeter seal. Over 30 PIWI varieties grow on 22 hectares – an expression of diversity, innovative spirit and a lived understanding of nature. The multi-award-winning winery stands for distinctive organic wines with character.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Deep dark red in the glass. Intense pepper and spice notes unfold on the nose, playing with hints of dried rose petals and dark fruit. On the palate, the wine is dense, full of character and long-lasting – a lasting impression with rough edges and plenty of presence.

Vinification
chevron-down

The wine is aged in steel tanks.
