The Cuvée Rosmarie Mathier Rouge from Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen is a versatile companion for all meat dishes.
During her active years, Rosmarie Mathier, Diego's mother, was a familiar face at all Swiss wine fairs and in the Stübli in Salgesch. She is considered a prominent ambassador for Valais and Swiss wines. Thanks to her popularity and relentless pursuit of excellence, her red Valais blend, masterfully composed of four grape varieties, has been crowned Swiss champion three times and is truly on everyone’s lips. The label features a rose, symbolizing both the incomparable beauty of a woman and the bouquet of this wine, reminiscent of the enchanting scent of a rose blossom.
The Cabernet Sauvignon gives the Cuvée Madame Rosmarie Red outstanding complexity and structure. The Syrah adds a delicate pepper note, the Merlot contributes a spicy nuance, and the Pinot Noir completes the blend with its subtle, silky elegance.
The grapes are destemmed, and each variety ages separately for 15 months in barrels. The blend is crafted according to Rosmarie Mathier's original creation. Although Rosmarie no longer leads the process, she retains a lifelong veto right over her Cuvée.
The blend combines different grape varieties from various growing regions. The terroir is carefully matched to each variety to create a unique tasting experience in the glass.
