An ideal companion for beef tenderloin, grilled dishes, game, and cheese platters.
In 1929, winemakers from Morges and the surrounding areas came together to pool their resources and establish a cooperative winery. Over time, this community steadily grew as more winegrowers, villages, and estates joined. Today, Cave de la Côte includes 1,800 plots of varying sizes. The vineyard region spans 450 hectares from Lausanne to Satigny, accounting for a quarter of La Côte’s total wine-growing area.
This wine stands out with its deep red color. Notes of berries, such as blueberries and blackcurrants, blend with hints of mocha and vanilla. On the palate, it is bold and well-balanced, featuring fine tannins and a long, fruity finish.
Harvested late, it is partially vinified in barrels at the Morges cellar.
The wine-growing region lies on the moraine of the Rhône glacier, where fine silt and clay blend with layers of molasse, limestone, gravel, and sand. Near the lake, gravelly soils dominate.
