A classic accompaniment to Valais specialities and ideal as an aperitif wine. It pairs particularly well with raclette, cheese fondue or a Valais platter. It also goes superbly with pan-fried perch fillet, Müller-style trout or asparagus with hollandaise sauce.
Since 1858, Charles Bonvin has shaped the wine culture of Valais and is one of the region’s most traditional wine houses. Over generations, this family-run business has made a name for itself with distinctive Valais wines. With its own vineyards in the finest sites around Sion, Charles Bonvin combines living tradition, modern winemaking craftsmanship and the unmistakable character of the Valais terroir.
Pale golden yellow with greenish highlights. On the nose, delicate aromas of white flowers, ripe apple, citrus fruits and a hint of flint unfold. On the palate, the Fendant is fresh, harmonious and elegant, with lively minerality, delicate fruit and a long, balanced finish.
The Chasselas grapes are gently pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks. Ageing on the fine lees preserves the freshness, emphasises the minerality and lends the wine additional elegance.
The grapes come from the Domaine de Brûlefer above Sion. The south-facing terraced vineyards with limestone and slate-rich soils, combined with the dry Valais climate, give the wine its characteristic freshness, minerality and elegant structure.
