A true delight as an aperitif wine and with dishes featuring freshwater fish and shellfish. Especially exquisite with sautéed sole in a refined cream sauce with verjus.
The first thing a wine lover notices when looking at the bottle of Fendant Ville de Sierre is the bold lettering. Created by an artist, it is a tribute to Diego Mathier’s grandfather, Oskar Mathier.
Above it, the sun proudly shines as the symbol of this elegant Fendant’s origin. The grapes for Ville de Sierre are grown in Siders, the city of the sun. With over 300 days of sunshine each year, this Fendant offers an unforgettable taste experience with every sip.
Fermented young wine with refined residual sweetness that elegantly rounds off the youthful freshness of the Ville de Sierre.
Before all the natural sugar from the harvest is fermented, the alcoholic fermentation is stopped. The aging takes place in stainless steel tanks.
Fendant Ville de Sierre is grown in the Collines, the typical hills of the town of Siders, in sun-drenched vineyards. As the sunniest town in Switzerland, the soils around Siders are rather poor and often consist of debris from the 1-million-cubic-meter landslide that occurred below the Varneralpe in 13,000 BC.
Thanks to the exposed hillside location, the grapes are gently and continuously caressed by a light, warm breeze during the ripening phase, enhancing sugar formation in the must.
