The charming one

Humagne Rouge Les Pyramides

AOC Valais
Humagne Rouge is a charming Valais wine, whose name, like Humagne Blanc (although they are not related), derives from the Latin "Vinum humanum" – a wine healthy for humans. But it is also more than that, a particularly charming wine that captivates everyone, much like the famous Matterhorn that graces its label.

Wine history
chevron-down

Humagne Rouge is an ancient grape variety, resulting from a natural cross between Cornalin, also known as Landroter, and an unknown, likely extinct, grape variety.

Although not related to Humagne Blanc, its name also derives from the Latin "Vinum humanum," meaning "wine, healthy for humans." The label features the most iconic and majestic pyramid of Valais: the 4478-meter-high Matterhorn.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Humagne Rouge presents itself in a deep garnet red. The nose reveals aromas of elderberry jelly, accompanied by a delicate note of forest floor. On the palate, it delights with a fine tannin structure, charmingly appealing to lovers of fruity, berry-flavored wines.

Vinification
chevron-down

The initial fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to enhance the fruit aromas. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, aiming to produce a typical, fruity wine. This process preserves its youthful character, making it ready to drink immediately.
