In Zizers, in the heart of the Bündner Herrschaft, lies the Grendelmeier winery – set on a sun-drenched alluvial cone with an ideal southwest-facing slope. Across more than six hectares, ten grape varieties thrive under the influence of the Föhn wind, altitude, and a dry climate. At the “Im Tschalär” estate, the grapes are vinified and bottled with expertise, care, and passion. A deep connection to nature, a commitment to quality, and a pioneering spirit define the winery’s work.
Delicate cherry-red color with elegant highlights. The nose reveals a fruity bouquet with notes of red currants, cherries, and hints of strawberries and raspberries. On the palate, the wine is soft, velvety, and structured, accompanied by fine tannins and a long, fruity finish. A harmonious, gentle Swiss red wine that impresses with charm and elegance – regional yet complex.
The Pinot Noir from the Grendelmeier winery is matured partly in large oak casks and partly in stainless steel tanks. This balanced combination of oak and stainless steel aging gives the wine its fine, velvety character with elegant fruit – true to the style of the Bündner Herrschaft.
