The Fehr&Engeli winery was born out of a passion: In the late 1960s, founders Bruno Fehr and Emil Engeli, newcomers to the world of winemaking, acquired the last vineyard parcel in Ueken. After clearing the land, they decided to plant it with high-quality European varieties such as Pinot Noir, Rhine Riesling, and Riesling X Sylvaner. Since they couldn’t find anyone to vinify their grapes, they educated themselves and, with the support of an experienced winemaker from the Fricktal region, started producing their own wines. The winery grew steadily: the vineyard area expanded, and other grape producers from the region entrusted their harvests to these innovative winemakers for processing.
A bold and layered red wine. Elegant hints of vanilla and subtle roasted aromas complement the intense notes of dark berries and the alluring bouquet.
This wine is aged for one year in oak barrels.
