Wine history
chevron-down

The story of the Adega de Pegões Winery began when the landowner and brewing magnate José Rovisco Pais donated his estates to the state hospitals of Lisbon. On these lands, the government implemented a large colonization project, distributing land to thousands of agricultural workers and initiating the planting of 2900 acres of vineyards. On March 7, 1958, a cooperative was founded with the purpose of providing the "Colonos" with the necessary technical and logistical support.
