Aloxe-Corton Domaine Latour

Aloxe-Corton AC
Puligny Montrachet may have its place as a Pinot Blanc, but this Aloxe-Corton Domaine Latour 2019 elevates Pinot Noir to a Burgundy that exudes its origins. A wine that does not show how strong it is, but how confident, and which is all the more impressive the next time you encounter it.

Wine history
chevron-down

The roots of Domaine Roux date back to 1885, when the first four hectares were cultivated in Saint-Aubin. Today, the family estate covers around 70 hectares in over 13 villages in the Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise. Diverse locations, chalky soils and generations of expertise create the basis for wines with distinctive character and elegant finesse.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Lively ruby red with hints of dark cherry and undergrowth. A touch of melted wood accompanies the aromas, along with liquorice and subtle spice. The tannins are supple, the structure elegant – a Pinot that offers balance and endurance.

Vinification
chevron-down

The grapes are harvested by hand. The must first matures for two to six months in French oak barrels before the wine is aged for a further 13 months in barriques – 30% in new barrels and 70% in used barrels.
