Culinary recommendation

Ideal with game dishes such as venison ragout, grilled entrecôte or rack of lamb with herbs. Braised aubergines, cassoulet or mature goat's cheese are also perfect accompaniments.

Wine history
chevron-down

Ferraton Père & Fils has been part of the northern Rhône Valley since 1946. In Tain-l'Hermitage, Jean Orëns Ferraton laid the foundation for a winery that still combines tradition with modernity today. Here, biodynamic wines are produced that capture the character of the important Rhône vineyards. Each vintage shows that true inspiration grows from respect for nature and origin – a heritage that can be felt in the glass.

Tasting note
chevron-down

Cornas Les Grands Mûriers presents itself in an intense ruby red with violet reflections. Aromas of ripe fruit, raspberry and cassis jam unfold on the nose. Notes of blackberries, sour cherries and spicy accents appear on the palate. Dense, tightly knit tannins give it structure and a lingering finish.

Vinification
chevron-down

The wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels.

The Syrah vines for this Cornas grow partly on weathered granite, locally known as ‘Gore’, and partly on clayey and calcareous alluvial soils – a terroir that combines power and finesse.
