A wine that elevates dishes with beef, lamb, game, as well as lentil or mushroom-based meals to new heights.
The Spiez vineyard is among the highest-altitude wine-growing areas north of the Alps. In 1927, Hans Barben gathered a group of wine enthusiasts who began cultivating Riesling-Sylvaner just a year later. An experiment with the Gutedel grape variety failed due to unsuitable soils, leading to a return to Riesling-Sylvaner. The dedicated group formed an association to expand the vineyards. In 1942, this became a cooperative that laid the foundation for winemaking in Spiez.
The bouquet is vibrant with a fruity and complex aroma profile. On the palate, the wine impresses with its balanced structure and pleasant fullness. Subtle tannins are seamlessly integrated, culminating in an elegant, long-lasting finish.
To enhance complexity, mature grape stems were included in the fermentation process. The wine was aged for 12 months in barriques and bottled unfiltered.
Carefully selected Pinot Noir grapes harvested from plots with exceptionally low yields.
