This wine pairs perfectly with traditional Tuscan cold cuts, braised or roasted red meat, game, braised hare, stuffed pheasant, and hard, matured cheeses.

Wine history
chevron-down

On February 4, 1001, Trasqua was mentioned for the first time in historical records. It refers to a land donation made by Countess Ava, daughter of the Lombard Zenobi and widow of the noble Ildebrando, Lord of Staggia, to the newly established Benedictine monastery at the Church of Abbadia Isola.

Since then, the thread connecting Trasqua to the present day has remained unbroken through centuries. Despite a path marked by challenges – wars, revolutions, expropriations, and transitions – this place has never lost its natural vocation for viticulture.

Tasting note
chevron-down

A ruby red wine with violet reflections. The nose reveals aromas of red forest fruits, plums, and ripe black cherries, complemented by notes of vanilla, nutmeg, and black and pink pepper. On the palate, it is elegant with a pleasantly intense and long-lasting presence.

Vinification
chevron-down

The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26–28°C. The wine then matures for at least 24 months in new French oak barriques.
