Ideal as an aperitif and with light starters, fish or seafood. Particularly lovely with smoked salmon with lemon cream, mussels au gratin or a risotto ai frutti di mare; mild Ticino fresh goat’s cheese is also an excellent match.
Guido Brivio founded his wine company in Mendrisio in the late 1980s, after studying oenology in France and taking over the Fratelli Valli winery. From the very beginning, he focused on high-quality Ticino grapes and a modern interpretation of regional wine culture. Guido Brivio has been part of the Gialdi Group since 2001; the wines are produced in Mendrisio and some are aged in naturally climate-controlled rock cellars at the foot of Monte Generoso.
Pale golden yellow with a fine, persistent effervescence. The delicate bouquet combines white flowers and light fruits with a subtle hint of almond. Fresh and supple on the palate, balanced and crisp, with a gentle fizz and a pleasantly long finish.
Merlot and Pinot Blanc are pressed as white wine. Secondary fermentation takes place using the Charmat method in a pressure tank, which preserves the fresh fruit and lively effervescence.
The grapes come from the Sottoceneri region of Ticino, south of Monte Ceneri, which encompasses the Mendrisiotto, Luganese and Malcantone areas. Limestone and clay-rich soils, plenty of sunshine, and the combined influence of alpine and Mediterranean climates promote ripe fruit and a balanced freshness.
