Cabernet Sauvignon Adrian Mathier

AOC Valais
The winemaker's profession demands hard physical work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. That's why the label of this Cabernet Sauvignon features a strong, youthful physique. It honors Adrian Mathier, who, throughout his life as a winemaker, created much through physical effort and significantly shaped the Mathier estate.

Wine history
chevron-down

Adrian Mathier, the father of Diego Mathier, has two wines dedicated to him within the family line. In addition to the Cornalin, the Cabernet Sauvignon also bears his name. As a hands-on winemaker who never shied away from hard work, he achieved and created an incredible amount in his lifetime. Through his tireless physical efforts, he contributed significantly to ensuring that the winery still shines today.

Tasting note
chevron-down

In the glass, a promising dark color with a violet shimmer. The bouquet is generous and diverse, ranging from spicy to fruity aromas, with a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, the Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and powerful. Initially marked by tannins and woody notes, it gradually evolves during aging into a balanced and perfectly rounded taste experience.

Vinification
chevron-down

Destemmed grapes. Long fermentation in Vinimatics to extract more tannins and color pigments. Optimal temperature control is ensured. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months in new oak barrels.
