In the picturesque setting of Cazzano di Tramigna, near the charming town of Soave, the story of the Bennati family began in 1870. Antonio Bennati, affectionately known as "Toni Recioto" – inspired by the renowned straw wine of the Verona region – laid the foundation for a winemaking tradition that continues to thrive today. With great passion, he dedicated himself to viticulture, selling his refined wines in the distinctive straw-covered bottles of the time.
After the challenges of the First World War, Antonio and his son Annibale founded the Cantine Bennati winery in 1920. Today, the winery is run by the fourth generation, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation. For the winemakers, crafting wine is more than a craft – it is a journey that tells stories, stirs emotions, and transports people to special places. With their dedicated team, they create wines that leave lasting impressions and offer timeless moments.
Intense red with garnet-coloured nuances. The nose has an aroma of ripe fruit and jam with light floral notes. On the palate, this wine is very elegant, structured and smooth. Long finish with flavours of cherries, blackberries and raspberries.
The grapes are harvested slightly overripe to allow for better concentration of aromas. After harvest, they are placed in small crates and transferred to the "Fruttaio," the drying room, where the windows are opened and closed daily as needed.
In February, the destemmed and pressed grapes are macerated with the must in temperature-controlled tanks for more than twenty days.
Filtration: Partial, to allow a broader expression of the wine's organoleptic characteristics. Any slight sediment is a testament to the wine's natural production.
The soils consist of calcareous sediments with a skeleton-rich limestone surface.
