The Cinque Schloss Heidegg AOC Lucerne pairs perfectly with braised dishes, grilled meats or poultry, robust cheeses, flavorful gratins, and dishes with rosemary potatoes. Highly recommended: a beef pot roast served with rosemary potatoes and vegetables.
Around 1300, a descendant of Knight Heinrich von Heidegg began planting vines on the steep, sunlit slopes surrounding the castle. Over the centuries, Heidegg experienced moments of glory as well as challenging periods. Nevertheless, the castle first became the Seetal Wine Castle and later one of the most renowned wine locations in the canton of Lucerne.
Today, the management of the Heidegg Winery continues the legacy of Josef Zemp. The skilled vineyard master of the State Winery left a lasting mark on viticulture at the castle hill, establishing it as a model estate for the Lucerne region.
"Cinque" impresses with its deep ruby-red color. The bouquet is dominated by spicy aromas. On the palate, it appears balanced and elegant, combining spicy and subtle fruity notes. The finish delights with gentle tannins and long-lasting, refined toasted aromas from barrel aging. Despite its bold grape varieties, the wine remains pleasantly approachable.
The winery’s vines thrive under the warm sun on perfectly suited moraine soils.
