Located in the heart of Rioja Alta, south of the Ebro between Haro and Logroño, Bodegas Altanza was founded in October 1998. In Fuenmayor, exceptional Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva wines are crafted. The fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation gives these Rioja wines their distinctive character and timeless elegance.
Bright cherry-red color with remarkable aromatic complexity. On the nose, notes of spices, delicate reduction, and a hint of leather and smoke unfold. Accents of cocoa, roasted aromas, and coffee from the oak barrels complete the bouquet. On the palate, the wine is charming, powerful, and well-balanced, with pleasant acidity and soft, sweet tannins. Its freshness and long finish, marked by sweet blackberry and mocha notes, make it an elegant delight, offering structure and maturity that will impress connoisseurs.
The Gran Reserva achieves its full maturity and intensity through 24 months of aging in French and American oak barrels. It is then refined for an additional 3 months in a 22-hectoliter barrique.
Rioja is one of Spain’s most productive regions, where grapevines thrive exceptionally well. The region fascinates with its diverse landscape, characterized by sandy soils, limestone, gravelly alluvial plains, and iron-rich clay.
